Hope I got your attention. Trust me, I am shallow. No real depth here. Any deep thoughts you get out of me would be in the spirit of Jack Handey, nothing more. I’ll leave the deep thoughts and spiritual awakening stuff to Oprah.
Having said that, I think there is a very tight correlation with running and meditation. Most folks that like to run do it not only for the physical benefits, but as a stress reliever, a way to calm the nerves, take the edge off, etc. Kind of like booze without the next morning, liver damage and consequences of a bad night out — for more on this, rent or buy The Hangover.
So, I am personally not touching this topic with a latex glove 10-foot pole, I will leave that to Zen-Master Dave, but what I can do is serve as a portal to you for this type of information on a weekly basis, and what better day to do this than Sunday-Funday?
As I thought about this post, I did some intensive research (e.g.: Google search = Zen of Running, clicked the first link and done). I was pretty impressed with this content I found from our friends over at ZenHabits.com and I thought you might enjoy it.
Let us know WHY you run. We would love to hear from you.
