Chad

This was a very temporary look

I am Chad.  Started running in April 2008, so I am approaching the two-year mark.  Prior to April 2008, I hated running.  I still hate running some days, but I continue to do it because the great things about it far outweigh the bad.  I think its training that I don’t really like.  The idea that I have to go run and it has to be a certain distance or amount of time is not nearly as appealing as just going out for a run because I want to and running as far or as short as I would like.  Big differentiator for me.  All complaints and bs whining aside, I like myself better when I am running, so I think I will keep it up.  My wife and kids seem to like the running Chad more, too, so that’s a bonus.

I love to eat.  That’s why I started running in the first place.  As age increases, metabolism rate decreases (along with amount of hair, energy, memory, etc) so I had to do something to attempt to reverse the aging process.  I am a big music fan, but I don’t listen to any when I run.  Try to keep it simple, not to mention I am easily distracted, so less stuff to fiddle with when running near motor vehicles is a good idea.

Chad and Dave’s Track Club was a vision I had way back in 2008.  I was training by myself for the ING Georgia Half Marathon.  I thought that it sure as heck would be nice to have some other people to run with, but none of my close friends were runners.  The vision came and went until I ran into my old buddy Dave and we discovered that we had both taken up running.  Dave was always up for a weekend long run, so one morning, I shared my vision with Dave and the rest was history.  It’s been fun putting this together over the past few months and I look forward to seeing what the future brings.  I truly believe we can meet a lot of great new friends and encourage a lot of folks to start running by making it fun.

Hope to see you on a run soon.  Thanks for sharing the vision.

Best,

Chad
